Sorry if this is in wrong section
I recently built a new computer and have everything except a gpu and monitor.
I want to get the mg279Q, 1440p/144hz. It would be nice to get one with g-sync but they are more expensive.

I hear that free-sync/g-sync makes gameplay much smoother, but with the cheaper mg279q, the rx480 seems to be the best choice.

Will the rx480 give enough power to take advantage of the 144hz . world of warcraft is pretty much the only game I play and I hear compared to other games, it doesn't take that much to run it.
Is this choice a good pair? at least until vega releases.
maybe get a 1070 or 1080 and use without free-sync?
Specs:
6700k
x2 250gb sdd
750w g2 psu
16gb ram
Any advice appreciated
Thanks in advance

Solution
if you are going to play a lot and get your money's worth then I would try to go for Gsync + 1070. I don't think RX480 can handle wow on 1440p very well... at least not at max settings.

World of Warcraft is a game that runs inexplicably better on NVidia cards than AMD. The RX480 will not crank out anywhere near 144fps at 1440p. It does average over 80FPS, so it would probably play really well with the Freesync monitor. A GTX 1070 on the other hand would do very, very well at 1440P/144Hz.

If I went nvidia i wouldn't be able to use free sync but at the same time I would get better fps. Which would you say is more important? I feel $800 for a g sync monitor is too much for me wen the mg279q is 500

Mg279q plus gtx 1070/1080
Or mg279q with rx480 (free sync)

I would go gtx1080 with g sync, but since I usually only play wow I feel I might be blowin a lot of money
