1440p 144hz G-Sync 24"

Hello!

I'm looking for a monitor in the 23"-25" size range, that is 1440p and has a 144hz refresh rate. However, those specs seem hard to find. It's like most of the 1440p monitors are 27" and up in size with ~60hz refresh, and most of the 144hz monitors are gaming fps monitors with only 1080p resolution.

Is there a technical reason for this? Like nobody needs 1440p at only 24", or that there's no demand for 144hz 1440p monitors because of how taxing they would be on the computer hardware to actually utilize? Or what?

If such a monitor exists does someone have a link/recommendation? Or a reason why I shouldn't get it and what I should get instead?

*I ask because I am building an i5 6600k/GTX 1070 build and I want a ~24" monitor to go with it that can display everything that the GPU can output. Any monitor recommendations for such a build?

1440p would look too small on a 24'' screen.

the sweetspots are:
24" 1080p
27" 1440p

So, the text would look to small on the desktop and menus, but ingame would be visually better, yeah? I mean, my girlfriend has a 13" laptop with 3200x1800 and the pixel density there looks MUCH better for movies and videos than it does on my 1080p 13" laptop. And on my current 23" monitor 1080p looks a bit grainy and dated.

I have seen though this hierarchy listed elsewhere:

1. 1440p/144hz >
2. 1080p/144hz >
3. 1440p/60hz >
4. 1080p/60hz

so maybe 1080p 144hz is really a lot better than 1080p 60hz? I don't play fps (more rts and rpg) though, and I care more about the pretty picture than the buttery smooth twitch reflex advantage. Any other advice?

I'll put it this way: what ~24" monitor would you recommend for a i5 6600k/GTX 1070 build? One that can take advantage of that power.

There are 24" 1440p@60Hz monitors, but the most popular one is the Dell one because of its thin bezel. That's your sweet spot. Unless you're playing FPS games, resolution is always > refresh rate.
