I've been in the market for a new monitor for a while now and have come to a stand still with my decision. I was wondering which would you all recommend I know my GPU can handle both since I have a GTX 1070. The two are the BenQ GW2765HT(1440P) and the Asus MG248Q(144Hz). I play mostly singleplayer games but for competitive games I play Overwatch and CS:GO.

That's really only something you can answer, I just had to decide this myself. I ended up going with that same BenQ actually because I decided I valued 2k, color, and screen real estate over 144hz and monitor speed (I also play mostly singleplayer or slower paced online games like MMOs, I do play OW sometimes though).

Also didn't want 144hz until I could afford get G-Sync with it. Monitors are really cruel on the wallet, the pain is real.

Edit: to help with the deciding, a very comprehensive review of both

If you wait for the right deals you can get both 1440p and 144Hz with G-Sync for not that much more than what those two monitors are going for. I bought this Dell monitor on sale from Amazon for $350 a couple weeks ago.

I also have a 1070 and this monitor works great with it. I'm able to take advantage of the high refresh rate in competitive games like Overwatch and Rocket League and more demanding AAA games still feel smooth and responsive at around 60 FPS thanks to the G-Sync support.

Prior to getting this monitor I was using a 1440p 60Hz monitor and this Dell is a noticeable improvement for me. If you don't want to wait I personally would choose 1440p over 144Hz unless your main priority is competitive multiplayer games.

I recommend you getting the one that has IPS panel. However if you choose a 144Hz TN panel, I would suggest you getting the Asus PG278Q since it has G-Sync
