Hi all just after the once over for my kids new gamer pc

He has a 28" 2k monitor with gsync and wants to play some of the latest games at 1440.

I've picked a bunch of parts below

Asus Rog strix b450f gaming board
Amd ryzen 7 2700x
16gb Corsair RGB pro 3200 memory
Kingston 1tb nvme SSD for primary drive
And a 2tb sata hd that he already has for additional storage
700w aerocool integrator PSU
Gigabyte gtx 1660 super oc 6gb
And a eg argon ATX RGB case

Inc delivery and windows 10 pro £800

What do you guys think please

I would just like to add I know naff all about graphics cards! I recently got a rtx 2060s oc edition for 4k gaming after reading some reviews and it doesn't really do 4k gaming.

Looks pretty solid, they should get on OK with that.

The 1660 super should do most games at 60fps+ @ 1440p, medium to high settings, and with Gsync active it will seem even smoother

Price is slightly on the higher side but there are some decent parts like the larger SSD etc.

I've seen builds for a similar price with an RTX 2070 but that was from a budget retailer but had a smaller SSD and less Ram.

I would replace the B450 mobo for a B550, Steel Legend is a good and fairly priced B550.
The CPU if it's for gaming the 3600X offers more performance.
Save a bit more and buy a 5600XT.

If you have a 2K-monitor, you cannot use the 1440p-solution.
2K is 1920x1080, 4K is 3840x2160, and WQHD ( between 2K and 4K) is 2560x1440.
Thanks for the reply. I just checked and it does say wqhd. I don't know where the 2k come from I think it was on the box when we got it.

Thanks for the input. This is where I get confused, ryzen 5, 7, 9 ? I thought 7 would be better than 5 and 9 better than 7 but isn't this the way it works? I don't understand amd at all haha is the 7 a newer generation than the 5? And so on?
I've always used Asus don't get me wrong because I know naff all about all this new gen stuff but when I've tried asrock in the past (a decade or more ago) they wasn't as good as Asus when it come to quality and stability. Maybe that's changed over the years? But if I where to stick with Asus the b550f gaming board is on special offer at the moment for £10 more than the steel legend? Also the site I'm on the amd graphics card is almost £100 more than the 1660s. Where are you all getting these cheap prices from? Please
