1440p Maximum length cable?

Intro :
I have a 15ft mini displayport to displayport cable that I will use from my computer to my monitor which is 1440p. Ideally I would like to have it around 25 - 30ft total.

Questions :
1 - Can I just use a Displayport or mini Displayport extension to make my cable longer or will I lose the signal quality?

2 - I heard about system to boost the signal over long cables but I know nothing about that, would that work? If so, what do I need, how does it work and how do I use it?

DisplayPort cables can be up to 15m (~49ft) without a booster. You can just attach an extension as long as the total length is under that max.

Considering it's a native Mini Displayport, does that change anything?
