1440p Monitor is stuck at 1080p, but only when connected to a multi display docking station with another monitor.

I have 2 monitors plugged into this docking station, one 1080p Asus and my 1440 Acer, and the docking station to my work laptop (Lenovo ThinkPad T495s). Normally this isn't an issue (for several months, none). The last fix was to uninstall the acer driver and weirdly it went back to normal, but that fix doesn't work anymore. this is the docking station I use.

The odd thing is whenever I unplug the 1080p Asus, the 1440 resolution works again.

From what I'm reading about the dock is this:
1) You may be limited to the screen resolution for the laptop itself if you are extending the display to the two other monitor.
2)
  • HD 4K Triple Display-- Dual HDMI ports (HMDI1: 4k@60Hz/ HDMI2: 4K@30Hz) and 1 Display Port(4K@60Hz) outputs high definition 4K video quality (your laptop needs to support DP1.4 output). For Win system, it is possible to get 2 screens with 4K resolution in the Extend mode if 2 monitors are connected. However, the resolution of monitors will be always consistent with the laptop in the mirror mode. If 3 monitors are connected, 2 screens can reach 4K and the other screen can only reach 1080P.
As to why it worked previously, it could have simply been a stroke of luck. I've never used that particular station so I can't speak for it.

I've had this for 3 months with no issues. laptop/Asus at 1080p and my Acer at 1440. Super frustrating.

Anything I can try to fix this?

Edit: If unplugging the 1080 monitor allows the 1440 to be at.. well 1440, then this isnt the issue with the docking station

According to the information on your link, the external displays will only be able to match whatever the max resolution is of the HOST it's attached to which in this case I assume is the laptop you mentioned.

As to why it worked before, like I said, a stroke of luck.

1) If you plug in each one of the monitors to the laptop directly, bypassing the dock entirely, do you get 1440 on both monitors individually? If yes, you've eliminated the monitors as being a source.
2) Plug each one of the monitors individually into each of the HDMI ports on the docking station and see if you get 1440. If so, you've partially eliminated the docking station.
3) Plug both monitors into the docking station, see which monitor gives you 1440 and the other 1080. Once identified, switch the connections. Does it follow the switch? If so, it could likely be a cable. If not, the port on the docking station may be bad.
