Hello everyone,

I am in the process of doing some upgrades to my pc and peripherals and am undecided on whether to buy a TV or a monitor (either will last me a few years and I don't want to regret it).

I have already asked around and looked into different monitors so I think if I do go for one, it will be the LG 34UM95 currently around 550-600 GBP on amazon. http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-34UM95-Inch-Ultra-Monitor/dp/B00JXD6DL0/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1443430655&sr=1-1

My question is this: For this price point (~600 GBP) would I be better off buying a 4K TV over the LG34UM95? if yes, please suggest one that would meet my gaming/watching needs.

How I plan to use this monitor:
1) watching movies and series with the wife
2) playing competitive RTS games (heroes of the storm and overwatch)
3) playing immersive consol games (skyrim, battelfield, halo 5)

I imagine a TV for this price will have a substantially bigger screen size and would thus be more immersive and better for watching from a distance.
My concerns on a TV would be input lag and compatibility with a PC. A 40-50 inch screen may not be confortable to watch from a few feet away when gaming on the PC.

Additional info of my current build and what I am thinking of upgrading to in bold
CPU: AMD FX6350 --> intel i5 6600K
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 --> MSI Z170A Gaming M7
GPU: MSI R9 270X --> MSI R9 390
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws 2x4GB DDR3 --> Avexir core series 2x8GB DDR4
PSU: 500W 80+bronze --> something modular, 750W or 850w 80+
Case: Phanteks Enthoo Luxe

TV is not good for gaming beacuse of it's much higher GTG response time.
Instead of TV you can check this 21:9 monitor
Asus MX299Q
AOC U3477PQU
LG 34UM95

Thanks for that. It will comfort me in my choice of going for a PC Monitor.
Both the LG 34UM95 and AOC U3477PQU look good. I'm not sure which one to go for now.

Do you know of anyone that reviews and/or compares both monitors. The are similarly priced on amazon at a respective 550 GBP for the LG and 500 for the AOC but I'm not sure if one is better than the other or if it comes down to functionalities like tilt/pivot and connectivity.

Either of them have noticeable back-light bleeding issues?

Almost no one do Monitor comparable review
Better read the user reviews of them from Amazon.com/ Neweg.com/ Ebay.com/ NCIXUS.com
