1440p on a 1080p monitor?

What would be the risks of running 1440p on a 1080p monitor, would it look better for both gaming and work tasks??

I've read it can be done through the Nvidia control panel possibly using a feature called DSR? Not quite sure on that

You won't physically see a difference at all, the only way to do it is to use Virtual Super Resolution in gaming it will look a little better.

DSR only works in games last time i looked any way

not in work tasks

and guess enabling it will drop frame rates so would possibly depend how good your graphics card is

Virtual Super Resolution being the AMD equivalent of DSR by the way

just so you dont get confused there

No risk. It'll cost you more frames and won't look any better.
