So, my setup is - i5-4690, msi z97 gaming 3, msi gtx 980 oc..
I really love watching movies and tv series with nice colors and resolution, but I play some games when I have time for it.
I am planning to buy a new monitor but I just can't decide.
I was looking for an 1440p (acer g247hyu) but some friends of mine told me, that my config is not going to be enough to run fps games well, just around 30-40 fps, and I should consider to buy an 24" Full hd monitor. As I read, watching movies on 1080p is still going to look better becouse without the upscaling stuff. And there is no much thing to watch just some cats on youtube on 1440p, which is Im not that interested in. Okay, maybe a little bit.

So, for longer use should I buy an 24 inch 1440p monitor or is it more reasonable to stick with the Fullhd? (Ips ofcourse)
If you have time and you can recommend a specific monitor, that would be nice.

It always depend on which games you play, but alot of recent games on ultra settings @1440p won't run at 60fps (but still close to it) with a gtx980. It will of course get worse in the future. 1080p will be much more futureproof, and is a pretty good resolution for a 24" monitor in my opinion.

just be careful, it's a 2560x1080 monitor (21:9 ratio instead of 16:9 1080p), which is much larger than usual monitor, not everyone like playing on that. Also, while it won't be as rough as 1440p for your GPU, you will get less FPS than on a 1920x1080 monitor.

I don't mind lose some shiny fancy graphic setting for more fps, and Im really interested in ultra wide. Btw, thanks for the help!:)
