Hey! I was just wondering if I could have some opinions regarding a monitor upgrade. I play open world games in ultra settings in a 1080p 22 inch VA panel monitor and GTX 1060 6GB card. I want to upgrade to a 27 inch monitor.

1. Does a 27 inch 4K monitor provide superior visuals than a 1440p 27 inch monitor?
2. Does a 1440p 144hz display provide superior gameplay compared to my current 1080p 60Hz display in non-competitive gaming?

I know i will need a GPU upgrade as well. Thinking of buying RTX 2080 (after reviews come out of course!)

Note: I dont like IPS due to the backlight bleed. So its either TN or VA for me.

Which do you think would be best to upgrade? Hope to get replies form folks who have used both monitors. Thanks!

Hz means the amount of fps your monitor can display. 4K will definitely have superior visuals than the 1440p, but the downside is that it only has 60hz refresh rate and gtx 1060 will definitely NOT do the job. If you are upgrading to the rtx series, then this will be a harder choice. If you really enjoy the visuals and the sharpness of gamepley, then 4k would be the one. However, if you want smooth gameplay, where you cannot notice the changing of frames, but with better visuals than full HD, then 1440p would be it. Gsync would also be great. If you are just staying with the 1060, then I suggest you don't upgrade your monitor until you get a pc upgrade. 1060 would run most AAA games at 40-60 fps in 1440p and 20-35 fps in 4k.
