I just bought i new PC. I have a GeForce RTX 2070 and Ryzen 2800x. Should i buy a 1440p monitor or spend extra for a 4K. Basically is it worth having a 4k monitor right now for the price or is the diference to a 1440p montior not that great.

Thanks

The difference between 1440p and 4k comes to text clarity, and specific edges look cleaner. (As well as far objects appear more appropriate). If you can, I would certainly go for the 4k option (though it may decrease your FPS slightly). If you're looking for future-proof peripherals, then go for the 4k one. If your previous monitor was FHD (1080p), then any of the two you choose will have a huge difference. The difference between 1080p and 1440p is much more significant than the one between 1440p and 4k.

When looking at new monitors, you'll need to work out your available budget on not only the display but also necessary computing power in order to be able to push all the pixels out. Here's a detailed explanation of 4K video gaming . I'd go with 1440p/144hz as well when a 2070 is available. The resolution, response time, refresh rates and other features are worth considering as factors. You should check it twice.
