So i recently got a second gtx 970 in my computer, and was looking into a monitor upgrade. Looking into it i came down to two choices, 1440p or 1080p 144hz. I was wondering what people think is the better option, and what are some good options from each category.

Solution
Anything more than 60Hz I consider a waste. Some people can tell the difference, I dont know if you can or not, but for me its not worth the price.
If you have the system to run it (which you have two 970s) 1440p would be better. (Or 5760x1080)
Larger resolution require better graphics card performance a lot more than higher refresh rate.
But then again, a refresh rate that high is extremely overrated.

Personally would just get a tripple monitor array of IPS 1080p monitors for the surround gaming. :D

I notice the Hz far more than I have noticed the resolution or PPI difference between Swift and VX2770.

My main point is not about I can fake myself believing a DSR'ed 1440p as actual 1440p, but you can get some benefits of 1440p while retaining the benefits of 144hz, but you can't if you go 1440p 60 (EG drop down to 1080p and get 144hz).
