Hello There.

My mate has two monitors. A 1440x900 using VGA to a DVI adapter.
And the second monitor being a 1280x1024 using DVI to DVI with a GTX 460 full with latest drivers.

However he cannot select "1440x900" as his main monitor size. His other monitor 1280x1024 is at it's native res.

Any help please?
Cheers

EDIT- After so many restarts just fixed it's self

Solution
Autodetect is not working for that monitor. The easy way is to see if there is a driver for your monitor that you can install (from the monitor manufacturer's website).

The hard way is to go into your registry settings and force a set aspect ratio, which will then allow you to select a compatible resolution from the menu.

Thanks for the rapid response.
word just in, his monitor is actually a TV.

The registry way sounds the best. can damage be done to his monitor. I understand damage can be done to his PC is done incorrectly.
