1440x900 What GFX card to get?

For your current 1440x900 resolution, you can play most of the current games at the highest settings with the GTX 275...
When you change the monitor to a 1920x1200, you would be adding one more GTX 275 and still you will be playing at highest settings ...

I'm pretty happy with the benchmarks, and your word, so I'm sure it will be awesome!. Great news all!, went to the shop and my dad put down a deposit, picking it up next week!, here is the FINAL parts list:

Hi...Nice setup...but I have heard that the 1.5TB Seagate drives had firmware problems...But news is around that it has been fixed...
But if I were you I wouldnt take chances with the primary drive and I would buy the WD Black 1TB instead...
It is faster than the 1.5TB Seagate and I guess 1TB should be suffice for you...wont it?...

As for the DVD drives, get the sata version and not the IDE...

Not even if I Sli gtx 275's and max out the Hard drives and dvd drives?. And about the 1.5tb Seagate, my dad has bought 6 from the same shop, and has had no problem, we store EVERYTHING on those drives and have never run into any problems, 1tb would be more than enough for me, but my dad probably only bought it so he can steal it off me hehe.

EDIT:I just remembered why I got the 850, it was like 30 dollars more than the 750, so I thought why not?.

Price isn't much of a big deal, and I'd prefer to get Nvidia, but my question is, my monitor resolution is 1440x900, I may upgrade to a 24" monitor in a few months, what graphics card should I get?, I want the BEST possible performance, I'm getting a 750W PSU and the Antec 902 case, I would consider SLI if the performance is significantly better, I've been looking at the XFX GTX 295 which looks good, keep in mind price doesn't worry me too much, I just want the best performance I can get right now.

Those are the rest of the parts I've picked out, I'm pretty happy with them, it's just the graphics card that's giving me a headache.

EDIT:It might be helpful if I post what games I play:CoD4, CoD WaW, TF2, CSS, and that's all I play atm, but I'd like to play new releases at high settings with a great fps, and keep the machine futureproof.

Why are you buying 1600mhz ram on a motherboard that only supports 1333mhz ram? I mean you can over-clock the motherboard to support to 2000mhz but the question is are you willing to do that? If you dont plan on overlock your motherboard then save some money and buy 1333mhz ram because the 1600mhz will be bottleneck anyway.

And for you 24'' monitor, if it supports 1920x1200 which it most likely does, then I think a GTX260 with 216 cores or a GTX275 will do perfect and will max out any game except for maybe Crysis or Company of heroes.

Why are you buying 1600mhz ram on a motherboard that only supports 1333mhz ram? I mean you can over-clock the motherboard to support to 2000mhz but the question is are you willing to do that? If you dont plan on overlock your motherboard then save some money and buy 1333mhz ram because the 1600mhz will be bottleneck anyway.

I believe that to 1333mhz needs an OC aswell, just push the memory multiplier up to 10x for 1333mhz or 12x for 1600mhz.

1333mhz, even if its 1600mhz, the supported speed on the motherboard will just throttle the ram down to 1333mhz.

^ actually 1066mhz, as the memory starts at 8x the 133mhz base which is 1066mhz, then you push it up to 10x for 1333mhz and overclock to 160 base for 1600mhz ram.

then lower the multiplier after that for higher base Overclocks.

@JDogg You dont have to worry much about how to set the RAM speed to the advertised speeds and CAS...I think the Corsair and most of the brands comes with XMP profiles, which allows you to set the RAM speed on WIN itself and you don't have to meddle with the BIOS for that...

And as for the PSU, if you have already bought it, then no probs...
And as for the HDD, if you feel that the 1.5TB is not bad, then go for it...but the WD Black 1TB is sure faster than that drive...

Ok, doesn't sound too hard. The hard drive is fine, as I said my dad uses 6 and has no probs, I don't care much for speed, as long as its faster than my IDE drive haha.

But check the RAM before you buy...See if they have the XMP profile options...
As some of the RAMs dont have them...
And yes that 1.5TB would be faster than the IDE
