Hello,

I'm building my first pc and I bought a RTX 2080 and a I7 8700k (delid) that I will overclock.

I'm so undecided on which 144Hz monitor to buy. 27 in 1440p vs 24 in 1080p.

My question is: will I be able to hit 144fps plus on most games at 1440p to consider spending the extra money on a 1440p monitor?

I mainly play fps games, lately a lot of Apex Legends and I always go back to Csgo and Pubg.

I value fps more than graphics of course.

Thanks

It's very very game dependent.

Overwatch: Yes | CS:GO: Yes | Apex Legends: Yes with low settings | PUBG: Yes with low settings | Fortnite: Yes | Call of Duty: Yes with tweaked settings | Battlefield: Yes

You should be able to determine what games you can run based off of what I gave you.

Apex legends low settings 1440p is better than ultra at 1080, right?

I’m playing apex med to high settings at 1440p with a 2080 over 100fps just need to play with the settings.
If your looking at 1080p you will be more cpu bound and might be worth looking at a 2070.
