144hz 1080p for single 980ti

Would it be worth it in the long run?

Either way it is an upgrade from my Acer Al2216W+V176L and I found it for the same price as a high end 60hz 1080p monitor from Samsung.

A single 980ti and a refresh rate (100hz+) monitor at 1080p is an excellent combination.

Many people like to perpetuate this notion that a 980ti is 'overkill' for 1080p, but that is just not true. As someone who has owned a 980ti with 1080p monitor, there are still many games that eat through your framerate.

That 980ti will give you fantastic performance at that resolution and will allow you to really make the most of that 144hz monitor.

I have the asus 1080p 144hz monitor and people said my 780ti's were overkill. Those same people are the ones saying the 980ti is overkill.

I was mainly worried about it aging horribly and being unable to utilize the higher refresh rate in like a year.

A 980Ti will probably age best of all GPU's out today seeing as it's about the best you can get
