144hz and 60hz mix issue! help please!

So basically i have a benQ 144hz running on DisplayPort and another monitor TFT one, running on 60hz with a VGA to the DVI-I port on my GTX 960.

now the problem is when the benq one is alone its fine and its 144hz but when i connect the other one they both go on 60hz!! any solutions?? thank you

my opinion is that since your primary screen is the benq the 2nd screen is trying to go to 144 but can't so they both lower it so they can be at the same frequency
but you should be able to change it after you connect both on the pc it depends on the gpu is it Nvidia/Amd

it's a GTX 960
do you think i can tweek something in the settings?

yes you can just go to your nvida settings and click on display options and you should be able to choose between the too and set your desired frequencies on your desired monitor
