[SOLVED] 144hz capable HDMI splitter not giving option for 144hz

I just bought a hdmi splitter that should be capable of running 144hz. It's got hdmi 2.0b capabilities and has a transfer rate of 18Gbps. My issue is that when I plug the splitter in and go to my nvidia control panel I can't select 144hz. Am I missing something completely obvious? All help is greatly appreciated.

Solution
Does the splitter claim 144Hz on both outputs at the same time?
It could be that when using both outputs the 144Hz get's split between them.

I’m only using one monitor at 144hz at the moment. I’m actually using the output 2 to mirror my monitor to my capture card. I’ll check if I can set the capture card to capture 30fps and see if that helps. If that doesn’t work do you have any other ideas?

thanks :)
