144hz DisplayPort to DVI-D(Duallink) Adapter?

I just bought a new PC and a new 144hz monitor, only later to find out that the screen does not support displayport, and the pc not supporting dvi-d duallink. I have the GTX 980 and the benq xl2411z. So what do i do now? The right thing would be to buy a adapter from DP to DVI, right? Or does it even support 144hz?? If you have an answer, please help me out xD.

Another question: can i use DVI-i with DVI-D?

Ok not a problem. Your DVI-D port will support 144hz

Just grab a cable like one of these

Or you could just use an adapter if you already have a cable

And yes, you can plug a DVI-D cable in to a DVI-I port, but not the other way around.
