I recently purchased a dell 27” 1440p 144hz gsync monitor and I love it man the difference is awesome between it and my old 1080p 60hz but I was wondering if is there a way to lock the frames in games at 144 FPS kinda like you do if ya were to turn v-sync on with a 60hz monitor I think if I turn v sync on now it locks it to 60 is it supposed to even if in the games graphics options I have it set to 144hz?

Solution
when you turn on vsync in game it will lock at 144 just like when you were at 60, but your minimum fps doesnt even reach 144. so just go down to 120 fps or lower. i like to turn it off anyways, the screen tearing isnt as obvious as it was in 60. so i just keep it at 144 without it.
as @skynetrising suggested, you can go experiment which type of pseudo-vysnc option you feel most comfortable with.
