Question 144hz laptop but only able to select 60hz

so i got a laptop recently a friend of mine got a different laptop 144hz aswell and we both are having the same exact issue with being able to select 144hz so far ive tried to look in the intel control panel nvidia control panel drivers reinstalling and resetting my laptop, changing power saving mode, but nothing has worked anyone have any suggestions?

does the box said 144hz?
