144Hz Monitor and In-game settings.

Just a quick question. Can stuttering and game issues start from having the monitor set at 144hz but the game set at 60hz.

I turned my game settings to 144hz and messed with some graphics settings and the issues stopped, I just wanted to make sure if the 60hz setting was the issue and not something else I did.


GTX 770 SLI. 16gb ram and 4770k windows 8.1 x64

how can in game settings have a refresh rate setting? Strange, but if there is one, always put it to the refresh rate your monitor is which is 144hz.

Some games have it, I have to set manually to 144hz, they default at 60hz.

Like in the screenshot, I would like to change that 60 to 144

Huh, never knew that. Reason why the default is 60hz is because 90% of monitors out there are 60hz.

Just like my last post said, just put it to 144hz which is your maximum refresh rate of your monitor.
