[SOLVED] 144hz monitor changes to 60hz when I hop in a game

When I'm not playing a game my monitor is set to 144hz but when I switch to a game such as Minecraft my Hz goes back to 60hz. I've tried everything including reinstalling my gpu drivers. I even tried resetting my monitor and changing the wire. It has worked for the past 3 months and all of a sudden it just stopped working.

In-fame video settings usually control that.
You can override it by creating an application profile in the 3d menu of the graphics control panel and set the refresh rate there (you did bot specify what kind of graphics do you have).
