144hz monitor for PS4?

I want to get a 144hz monitor for my PC build. However, I will be playing PS4 and Xbox One on said monitor. I know the consoles can't produce 144hz so my question is will the consoles only utilize 60hz or whatever they run at without any sacrifices to quality? Or would I be better off getting a 60hz monitor for both?

144hz monitors also support 60hz, so it won't matter. Other than the fact that most high refresh rate monitors don't have very good picture quality. I personally use a pair of Dell Ultrasharp IPS displays because I care more about visual quality than framerate because I'm not a huge player of competitive first-person shooters.
