i am all about that budget but honestly i feel like i would pay more just to get a brand new asus mg248q but i wonder what u guys think

I use an Asus VG248QE 24.0" 144Hz monitor. It's fairly cheap now, even by Canadian standards (I paid close to $400, currently on sale for $180 CAD). Definitely recommend it.

Don't go refurbished, just get something new. Monitors typically last a good amount of time anyway. I love the color and quality of the one I have, and I've had it for almost 4 years now.

Also depends on the size you're looking for. The one I listed is 24". As well, resolution is 1080p.
