Question 144hz monitor or 240hz?

Hello.

I Bought a Notebook with a Nvidia 2070 8GB GPU. The monitor of the notebook is 15" 240hz/3ms, and I really like it, is really fluid.
With it I bought a "cheap" acer monitor with 144hz and 1ms, I connect it with an Hdmi cable. The settings are set on 144hz, is nice, but it doesnt seems like a a huge change from my old monitor with 60hz.

Do you think that I should buy a 240hz monitor or my GPU will not do it? Or maybe just a better monitor?

You probably can't tell the difference from 144 to 240 fps. You should notice a difference from 60 to 144.

You say your ACER is connected using an HDMI. Double check if you are using an adequate cord

besides having an adequate cable, you may also need to set the refresh rate at 144Hz manually. check Windows Display Settings, Nvidia Control Panel, and your monitor's OSD menu to ensure all are setup to properly output 144Hz.
