144hz monitor question

Just wondering, I have a 144hz monitor the popular Asus vg248QE. I was just wanting to know if i have it set to 144hz and im playing a game and i go under 144 frames does it drop to like 120hz refresh rate? Prlly a silly question but i couldn't find a clear answer after searching online.

No it won't drop, atleast mine never has.

Depends if it has adaptive sync technology

Freesync/G-Sync does exactly that, syncing your monitor's refresh rate to the FPS output of your GPU.
Otherwise it's just a fixed 144Hz

Edit: yours doesn't come with freesync/G-Sync

Asus did sell a DIY upgrade kit for Gsync but never released that model with it preinstalled.
