I just ordered a https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078ZJHD25/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 monitor. It has Freesync.

I have a few questions about the monitor and my compatibility with it.
GPU: Radeon Rx580 4gb

I can run BF1 on ultra ranging from 60-100 FPS, mainly between 70-80. Since I got a new 144hz monitor will I still be able to smoothly run BF1 and AAA titles?

Also with freesync what does it do exactly, and how will I use it with my setup? Due to me being below 144 FPS will there be any advantages with using t?

Thank you!

Yes I was wondering if my game would look smoother because of a higher Hz or if it would look the same as my 60Hz monitor. I basically want to know if my game will look better/smoother than 60Hz monitor.

Yeah, if you're getting more than 60 fps it will be smoother than a 60 hz monitor. Just like if your'e getting 45 fps on a 60 hz monitor it will be smoother than 30 fps on the same monitor.

Yes. Moving from a 1080p 60hz monitor to a 1080p 144hz monitor will give you smoother gameplay based on your fps numbers. You can lower your BF1 settings to push up fps numbers closer to 144fps, matching your monitor's refresh rates. you will have to play around/optimize settings to get it to where like the picture quality vs performace in game. good luck

Thank you, how ever if I keep mine at my current FPS and ultra quality will I still get smooth performance, or would it hinder my performance due to not being close to 144 FPS?

Also will I need freesync or not?
