Hello, so my pc is kinda old and I feel I need to do a bit of upgrading.
I don't know what I should upgrade first, but something tells me my CPU is doing poorly so I am kinda waiting to check the prices of new Ryzen cpu that will come out but i want opinions on what i should upgrade first and if my graphics card is enough to keep up with those games.
I just been dropping fps and it feel laggy on fights for exemple in fortnite that i can barelly turn sometimes, apex legends is kinda off fine for some reason and overwatch its on intesive fights that i lag as well, splitgate for some reason i avarage 120 fps(not too bad i just expected more for that type of game tbh)
I am kinda on a budget as well but we will see how much i can expand that budget...
Would like to try some games as well but cannot be arsed because i might have low fps and i already play everything on low

Games I mostly play, Overwatch, Apex Legends, Fortnite, Splitgate, Ark

I added in the cooler with the assumption that your current cooler doesn't have any support for the AM4 mounting scheme.
This cooler also is really good for overclocking as well.

This is also with the assumption that you decide to go the route of a platform upgrade rather than the other options I mentioned.

Yes it would be a good idea and probably wise to wait. If you want Ryzen 3rd, at this stage being so close to launch i would wait for 500 series boards.

People with current Ryzen boards already can upgrade without spending extra if their board supports the cpu model they want but there will be restrictions. Restrictions as in, it's looking like depending on board quality, some motherboards may be limited to which cpus can run and also limited Pcie4 functionality if interested in Pcie4 graphics cards or Ssds in future. Review sites will eventually confirm which boards can do what but i reckon it'll be simpler to just go for a mobo zen2 is designed for.

absolutely refuse to go back to anything lower than 100fps unless I am forced too against my will.
100 fps is not 144fps - which proves my point
You are not crying and screaming its not 144. I never mentioned anything about 30 fps 60fps or whatever, I mentioned, why do people think if its not 144fps they moan.
I happily run all my games with high fps, but I don't complain that it doesn't reach 144 like my monitor.

Well i just want the 144fps for the 144hz, because that way feels smooth while aiming, if i go down to 120\100 with 144hz on my monitor if feels like im laggin, my aim gets slower, its not as smooth in fast pace aiming games that is if i play sometime like fallout or something basically story line that aiming is not as important its all good, I switched to 120hz on my monitor on the settings and if i drop from 144 to 120 it feels the same but if i drop below that I can notice it straight away
Like i previously said I dont want more fps i just want stable fps, so that way i have a stable gaming experience

In respect for Electro, i doubt you would feel that much different between 100/120 and 144. Not by a drastic amount by any means, not enough to lag or feel lag. Fps drops i can understand.

Do you have Vsync/fast sync or anything like that enabled? I wouldn't expect to notice a big difference dropping from 144 to 120, unless it results in screen tearing starting whenever you drop below your monitor's refresh rate.

I don't have anything of that enebled and I don't know what fast sync is...
@boju I don't know, I just feel like sometimes my game is slower, especially when im aiming I can notice it having a slower movement :\
