Question 144Hz Monitor Stuck at 120Hz

The monitor is a 32:9 Samsung CHG90. I’ve installed the DisplayPort driver and Windows still only gives the option for 59,60,100 & 120Hz. 144Hz is missing. I’ve tried to create a custom resolution in Nvidia Control Panel too, but every time it says ‘Test Successful’ but doesn’t really appear to save the setting. My GPU is an EVGA 780 TI SC. I’m connecting through the DisplayPort on both devices and using the DisplayPort cable that came in the box with the monitor. I’ve updated the monitor’s DP Driver via Samsung’s website. Windows is up to date (Win 10 x64 Ver 1903 OS Build 18362.239) Nvidia drivers are up to date: 431.36. The monitor is running the latest firmware, Version 1019.0. Inside the monitor’s menu, it says the refresh rate is set to 144Hz. Response time: Standard. Display Port Version is set to 1.2 on the monitor. By default it was set to 1.2+ but every time I restarted my computer it would fail to find a video signal. I can vouch that 1.2+ only shows 120Hz too though… And 1.1 only shows up to 100Hz.
Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have HDR/10 bpc color enabled? Because DP 1.2 cant handle 3840x1920 144 Hz with 10 bpc.

Unfortunately I'm still stuck at 120Hz. As far as I can see there are no HDR related settings in the monitor. I've also looked over the How To guide but don't see anything I haven't tried. I even bought a new DisplayPort cable just to see, but that didn't work either.

It's been a couple months, perhaps you've figured this out by now, but I thought I would reply:

I have the same card (780ti) and monitor (CHG90) and I see a similar problem. From my understanding, the 780ti fundamentally cannot drive the monitor at 144Hz. This is due to its pixel clock. That resolution at 144 requires a pixel clock of 597 MP/s (3840x1080x144 = 597.1). I think the 780ti tops out around 500 or 520, it's hard to find an official number. You need a higher end card (1080 or something) with a higher max pixel clock.

Strangely, I cannot get mine to even do 120Hz. I can set a custom resolution up to 116Hz, but any higher and it craps out. Not sure why my pixel clock won't go as high, or what else I'm doing wrong.
