144hz monitor wont let me go above 70hz

Hey Guys

I recently built a new computer complete with a RTX 2080 and 2 Acer KG271U 144hz 27" Monitors and I have noticed one monitor is operating at 70hz.

The first monitor is using a display port cable and it lets me go to 144hz but the second monitor is using HDMI and its not letting me go above 70hz.

Is it because I am using a HDMI cable over a Display Port cable?

hdmi wont give u 144hz anyway, its usualy capped at 120hz, dunno why u having 70hz, either monitor cant handle more over hdmi, or your hdmi cable doesnt have enough bandwith

You are going to need another DisplayPort or a dual link DVI-D monitor cable. The HDMI will not work for 144 Hz .

Thank you for your answer guys! I have just ordered myself another Display Port cable as my video card has 2 DP ports.
