So yeah at the moment, the models I am trying to make my mind about are:
BenQ XL2420Z
http://www.amazon.com/BenQ-XL2420Z-24-Inch-LED-Lit-Professional/dp/B00HE61SOA/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1409988957&sr=1-1&keywords=BenQ+XL2420Z+24
Price including shipping and tax to Israel: 546.60$

BenQ XL2720Z - Received best monitor by Linus and Smart Buy of Tom's Hardware
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GWFNMJS
Price including shipping and tax to Israel: $696.40

And the Asus VG248QE:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B2HH7G0/ref=s9_psimh_gw_p147_d0_i3?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=159G0FX88ZQ5VMGTZ8GM&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1688200382&pf_rd_i=507846
Price including shipping and tax to Israel: $449.10

There is also this http://www.amazon.com/PB278Q-27-Inch-LED-lit-Profession... for 27" 1440p but not sure if the specs are good (5ms for instance) Costs more than the BenQXL2720z

(Don't really think the Gsync ROG is a realistic option atm, for the reasons I mentioned above).

Dual-link DVI supports up to 2560x1440 @ 60 Hz or 1920x1080 @ 144 Hz.
Most graphics cards support this connector.
More than 95% of monitors are 60 Hz. Only enthusiast gaming monitors are higher.

For the monitors that support 2560x1440 @ 60 Hz, Dual-link DVI is fine. Displayport is also OK and additionally supports audio if the monitor has speakers.
For the monitors that support 1920x1080 @ 144 Hz, Dual-link DVI is fine. Displayport is also OK and additionally supports audio if the monitor has speakers
The only monitor we have discussed that doesn't fit into one of these two categories is the Asus PG278Q. Displayport is the only standard that supports 2560x1440 @ 144Hz. It is also the only standard that supports g-sync. This particular monitor comes with one DisplayPort input and nothing else.

I have no idea what cables come bundled with these monitors. The manufacturers web sites might list the included accessories.

HDMI 1.3 and later supports resolutions above 1920x1200 but only at 60 Hz.

Thank you, this is really clearing things up. The micro differences between cable res/Hz compatibility are quite confusing.

OK I think I have narrowed down the monitor options, feel free to comment:
Here is the list (*from the most costly and down):
ROG SWIFT PG278Q
My most desired monitor at the moment (#1 choice if only it will be sold by Amazon.com in Amazon - since third party sellers don't ship to Israel).
27", 1440p, 1ms, 144hz, flicker free, 3d, Nvidia Gsync.

Dell U2713HM
for the best image. 27" 1440p, 60Hz, IPS, Flicker Free.

BenQ XL2420Z
Best gaming monitor in the 24" domain. 144Hz, 1ms, Flicker Free, blur reduction, low blue light, 3d, 1080p. Best colors for a TN gaming panel.
Also this: BenQ XL2720Z - although I am not sure about the low pixel density severity.

ASUS VG248QE - great gaming monitor for the price, cheaper than the 2 BenQs - HOWEVER: BenQ might triumph with the Flicker Free (confirmed) that is very important for me, and arguable better colors and motion blur tech. Also uses direct current instead of pulse pwm (not an expert).

*The Asus PB278 gets ruled out because it isn't Flicker Free and if I am to choose a 60Hz IPS monitor for picture quality, I think I rather pick DEL.

Final thoughts: I have a gut feeling that I should really wait for the ASUS ROG SWIFT PG278Q. Cost like hell. But might be the single best gaming monitor out there.

Appreciate any more comments or opinions here. Thanks
