I recently bought an iBuypower pc with an rtx 2070. Everything runs well except I was not able to run it on 144hz. I have an Asus vg248qe and it comes with an hdmi and dvi cable. I connected it to the pc and the monitor but it only caps at 60hz. I have been doing some digging and I realized I plugged it into the motherboard's dvi port. Is there something I haven't heard of because when I looked at the gpu's plugs, I don't see a dvi port.

Solution
Dual-Link DVI is required for 144 Hz. Motherboard DVI ports are generally Single-Link only. Also you will not be using the power of your graphics card if you do not plug into the graphics card.

Use DisplayPort instead.

I have been thinking the same thing about getting a display port but I am new to it so I need your help on it.
1. Can it run 144hz on 1080p?
2. Do I need an HDMI cable if I use DisplayPort?
3. What kind of DisplayPort would I need for 144hz 1080p?
4. Where can I buy it from Amazon?

One more question. Would a DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable work?

Yes
