What is the difference between 60hz and 144hz? What will this mean for gaming? Will 144hz @1080p be worth the extra money from 60hz &1080p? THANKS!

If you can get 120fps you can set the 144hz monitor to 120hz. Have not seen a 144hz that does not also do 120hz. But the goal is to get as close as possible without...

If your graphics card can produce high enough frame-rate (120+ consistent), and you play fast paced games (drivers/shooters etc), then 144hz is 100% worth it. But if you play mmo's or rpg's but have a high end GPU you're better off going with a 2k or 4k monitor.

What higher refresh rate does is creates a smoother image which is very valuable in fast paced games with a lot of movement. Now in order to get any benefit from 144hz monitors, you need to first be able to obtain at least 144 fps in game.

Well I get ~140 fps at 720p (with my 960) on war thunder (my go to game). I figure I will hit 120fps at 1080p (I do intend to upgrade to a RX-480)
