144Hz or IPS

should i get a 1080p 16:9 monitor with either IPS or 144Hz refresh rate
also what will IPS do for me

well if youre happy/content witht the colours tn gives you, go with 144Hz. Im running asus vg248qe and the colours are fine (for me at least) after a slight reduction of gamma thru drivers, sort of weird the monitor doesnt have a gamma setting in the osd...

For gaming, I prefer 144hz to IPS. Motion fluidity is important to me. These monitors also have less ghosting, which is important to high hz as well.
