i have really been struggling with choosing parts for my next pc as i have been hugely indecisive, i was wondering if anyone would be able to create a list of parts that would work for a new pc, i plan on playing games like overwatch, forza horizon 4, rainbow six siege, battlefield 5 etc at 1080p 144hz, thanks very much for your help!

You will need to raise your budget.

You will need a both a GPU that can do it AND a CPU that can keep up with the high framerates.

whats a good budget then?

Something like this:

i have opted for exactly that but with a ryzen 2600 and a b450-f gaming to save money and have got the whole thing down to £1161, how well will the 2600 fare at 4.2ghz when paired with the 2070 at 1080p?

I doubt the 2600 can push those high frame rates.
i am between getting a combo of the 2600 and the rtx 2070 OR the 8600k and the rtx 2060? which would be better (i likely wont be playing games on ultra and instead high leading me to believe that the latter of the 2 will be better as the gpu wont have such a heavy load and will push more frames)

Neither setup will push 144 FPS across the board. Either you will run into a bottleneck with the AMD CPU or the 2060 won't be powerful enough across the board.

The 8600K or 9600K and RTX 2070 will however.

Although the 8700K would be better.

You get what you PAY for.

this isnt very helpful: my question was which of the 2 options would perform better, im just not willing to pay that much.

Like I said neither setup will do what you want.

Both setups there will be a bottleneck.

Neither would be balanced

The issue is you want to play at 1080P and it takes a lot of CPU power to push those high frame rates.

But then at 1440P you need a very powerful GPU.

There is always a trade off.

its a simple question, i dont need to always have 144fps or over, which system is going to perform better? i dont want to spend £1600 on a system + monitor
