144hz with 100fps

Hello, I would like to buy a new 144hz monitor but my computer cant do 100fps or above in some games I play and I want to know if it is a big problem or not.

Hi!

Consider your monitor's refresh rate (Hz) the maximum fps it can produce. If you computer outputs more fps than the monitor's refresh rate then you will have screen tearing issues.

Since your computer does not reach 144 fps it means it will work fine and you won't have troubles with this.

Answer: No it's not a problem, it's an ideal situation.

Ps: Consider a 120Hz monitor if you don't even reach 120 fps, it would be just as good, but cheaper, or might have better utilities.

You might notice some screen tearing running under the refresh rate without gsync or freesync. However I find that it is not very noticeable if you are able to get around 100fps or more, at say near 60fps you may notice some tearing.
