144Hz with 1080 SC2?

Hey guys,

I don't know the difference between FTW, Hybrid, SC, SC2, etc but https://www.amazon.ca/EVGA-GeForce-Support-Graphics-08G-P4-6183-KR/dp/B06W51YRVT/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1501086184&sr=8-14&keywords=nvidia%2Bgtx%2B1080&th=1 has been at the lowest price point and was wondering if I can run at 144hz with that card and if that's a good price? Or should I wait and see how the mining craze goes and hope the price drops some more?

Difference between all of them is some few MHz in speed, which will result in no more than 1-5 fps difference which is neglectible. All of them will be enough for 144hz in 1080p.

What resolution? As said above, one GTX 1080 model or another won't make much of a difference.

I bought two of these monitors https://www.amazon.ca/ASUS-VG248QE-24-inch-LED-lit-response/dp/B00B2HH7G0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1501087427&sr=8-1&keywords=asus+144hz and I currently have an R9 290 and was hoping to upgrade to a gtx 1080. I only need one of the monitors to run at 144hz for gaming while the other just needs to connect to an HDMI and run at 60hz.

I was just going to say that you don't neeedd to spend extra money on a 2nd 144hz monitor, when you will use just one. Anyways, yeah the 1080 will run everything perfectly.

Yea, I got both of them refurbished much cheaper though, so that's why I just went for 2 instead of the 1.

😀 Still, I'd most likely would have gone for a 16:10 IPS as a secondary, but yeah you are fine like that.
