144hz with freesync on an nvidia gpu

Hi guys, I need to buy a new monitor as my old one has started to die on me (nothing special, just a 60hz samsung monitor).

I am looking at purchasing the MSI G27C2 Monitor as its 144hz curved 1ms 1080p monitor with freesync My PC specs are i5 6500, 16GB ram and gtx 1070 strix.

What i am concerned about is that does freesync and gsync really matter? I understand it is good to have and people prefer it but as all MSI monitors are freesync i think, do I need gsync for my game to run smoothly if im not getting 144fps or above? Or will i not really notice an insane difference? Just wanting to know if it is worth purchasing if i have an nvidia gpu with a freesync monitor. Dont really want to spend an extra $200 for gsync as i cant imagine spending $650 aud on a monitor.

Gsync/freesync is more for smoothing low frame rates. 144hz is what you will notice more than anything. I have a 980ti and a 1440p 144hz monitor with freesync you don't need any sync after you have 144hz IMO.

You won't notice at 144 hz. Even if you do, you mite as well use V sync. They all cap your fps, leaving you with less frames to chose from and more input lag.

First off Freesync doesn't work on Nvidia. Aside from that I have a Freesync monitor with and AMD GPU, honestly at high framerates you would barely notice the difference. Some games I even turn it off. As mentioned the 144hz takes care of most of it.

Because i heard its also bad to have below 144fps on a 144hz monitor as it wikk give you screen tear if you arent able to use the freesync or gsync

You do not need to get over 144fps. Having below 144fps will not give you screen tearing without freesync or gsync. You can use the games built in Vsync as well to minimize any isssues, but again you probably won't even notice.
