Question 144hz wont stay at 144hz when game is launched?

So i build new pc with an 144hz monitor, i'm using displayport cable.
After i updated my graphics gard's drivers i think this problem started but i'm not so sure.

System specs
Intel core i7-10700k Cpu
RTX 2080 Super Gpu
Asus ROG STRIX Z490-F Gaming Mob
16gb DDR4 3200mhz Hyperx fury Ram

In fullscreen mode, games have control of the display settings. It doesn't matter what the desktop settings are. You need to go into the game settings and set the display to 144 Hz there.
but what if a game like minecraft dosent have that option tho? the only time when 144hz work on minecraft for me is whenever is on windowed mode

go to nvidia control panel, and press change resolution, then screenshot to me.

it should say 144hz or 60hz or whatever the monitor is set to.
also look in the onboard monitor buttons menu.
I got my uncles 240hz monitor to test and i don't have any issue with this monitor, i think somehow my monitor is broken or smth

It always said 144hz on nvidia control panel but when i launched csgo or tf2 it didn't felt like 144hz
