Other than the Dell Latitude 820, are there any other laptop manufacturers that offer a 15.4" WUXGA (1920x1200) screen? What about 17" WUXGA?

Does anyone have personal experience with a WUXGA laptop? What do you think about it? I will soon be in the market for a new laptop and desktop real estate is of the utmost importance.

Thanks in advance for your ideas and suggestions! :)

I hope you have really good eyesight because I'm struggling with my 15.4" WSXGA+ (1680x1050) due to very small font at default (96dpi) settings.

Strongly IMO I wouldn't go above WSXGA+ for that size, and WUXGA for 17".

I have to agree with Post, unless you've seen 19x12 on a 15" LCD I think you might want to really take a first hand look first. 17" is great for 19x12, and is quite common among the 17" laptop makers, DELL, HP, Gateway, etc.

The main question is what you need 19x12 for, and what you plan on using the laptop for primarily.

It's all a matter of taste. I have a Lenovo Thinkpad z61p, which is a 15.4" 1900x1200 display. I love it. The images are razor sharp on that dense of a resolution, and if reading is an issue, you can simply choose a larger font. Plus, with the higher resolution, there is more desktop real estate to put windows in.

My old sager np5320 had a 1920 x 1200 screen. 15.4". The text was very small and it took some getting accustomed to. I found it really useful as i could open two browsers on the same screen. One you get used to it, its hard to go back to using something smaller (my new lt is 1440 x 1050...)
