15.6 inch laptop 1366 x 768 vs 1920 x 1080 Display

I am considering buying a laptop, but am stuck on the display choices, which are shown below:

15.6-inch diagonal High Definition BrightView LED-backlit Display (1366 x 768)
OR
15.6-inch diagonal Full High Definition Anti-glare LED-backlit Display (1920 x 1080)

Is the higher resolution worth it on a 15.6 inch screen? Will everything be hard to see/read? Is the lower resolution dull or blurry? Is the difference noticeable? Will it affect gaming? (I don't usually play graphically intensive games, but occasionally do.) The graphics card I am planning to get is:

NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) GT 650M Graphics with 2048MB of dedicated video memory

Perhaps you have a bit of a misconception of how resolution works. The higher the resolution, the clearer the display and the easier it is to see/read.

Will the difference be noticeable? Yes, it'll be a huge difference compared to 1366x768. If you work on your laptop frequently and like multitasking a lot, or displaying lots of information or pages at once, 1920x1080 is great. It's also better for most multimedia purposes. Compared to 1366x768, 1920x1080 looks far sharper and will make appropriately scaled movies look far better. For example, if you watch a movie in 1080p on your 1920x1080 screen, you'll notice the difference. If you're only watching 720p movies, however, the difference between the two resolutions won't be noticeable since 1366x768 has more pixels available than 1280x720. So assuming you enjoy full HD movies or do a lot of work on your laptop, 1920x1080 is clearly the way to go.

The only caveat is that you're using it for some gaming. You'll be playing graphically intensive games occasionally, and that's where 1920x1080 will go to waste a bit. On the more graphically intensive games, a single GT 650M cannot properly render graphics at that resolution and still maintain a good frame rate (assuming other eye candy is maxed out or high). For older games though, or ones that simply aren't graphically intensive, the 1920x1080 will make a huge difference compared to the far lower 1366x768 resolution.

It's really up to you to see if the price justifies the cost, but those are the pros and cons of them.

The reason I thought it might be harder to see is that I've heard when the screen size is small with a higher resolution, everything becomes smaller, text, icons, etc.

yes, you are right. on a 1920x1080 diaplay you will see icons and fonts appear smaller than 1366x768p screen ( i am assuming that screen zoom levels are set to default in both cases ). That is the reason you get more workspace/content displayed on the screen with 1920x1080 display. To be more specific, say you open any wiki page, then if you are able to see 30 lines in a paragraph being displayed on 1366x768 display, then you will see may be 40-50 lines of text displayed on 1920 display without scrolling down.
