Have a HP PC with Intel 1.7. When I turn it on it will post beep and run for 15 seconds and shut down. I have reseated the heat sink with artic silver,tried different components 'memory, video". It will run 15 seconds and then shut down. Any one got any ideas. Bruce

Is it true that cannibals don't eat clowns because they taste funny?
 
Does it do that even if you boot off a floppy or CD?

Thanks for the reply. I figured it out. Most likely the Mobo has a sensor on it tell the power supply to shut down if the cpu fan is not plugged into the cpu fan header on the board. I had the fan plugged into a different spot. Once I plugged the fan into the right header it stays on. I thought it had to be something simple. Bruce
