I am wondering, do i need haswell 4770k for gaming? would it be worth it to get?
I am also considering to get a 120 HZ monitor, is it worth it?

A 120 HZ monitor is not worth it unless you're planning on playing in 3d mode in which all 3d monitors are at least 120hz.
I'd wait for Haswell, because it seems to have better overclocking potential than Ivy Bridge had. Also it's a good idea to see what the GTX 770 and GTX 760 ti will be priced at, as it would be a compelling option to get a SLI 760 ti setup right off the bat.

No, get an i7, you can afford it. i7's will be useful in the near future anyway because consoles have hyper-threading. This means that the hyper-threading, non-existent in i5 CPUs, will be utilized in games in the near-future.

Relax man. These threads are meant to be informative, not some pissing contest. We're just trying to help the OP with as many opinions as possible, helpful opinions.

With this week's release of the new GTX 760, except for new Radeon GPUs (which probably won't be out for the next couple months), all the new hardware for this year is pretty much done being released.

hyper threading will soon be used on gaming and i5 doesnt have hyper threading and who says he wont sli in the future?

Not really. Most first and third person games really only use two cores and a couple of threads at the most. There's a few CPU killers out there like Crysis but they're few and far between.

IMO, this system should last you for 5 years, no more future proof on the graphic card, already SLI. If 770 or 780, it could be better. You could SLI in near future. Do not 3-SLI, completely useless.

No, but you could SLI 780 in near future, make this card more future proof, 770 price wiser than 780. Better go with 770 since it price-wise. but if you looking for PC upgrade in next 5 years, then my system build would perfectly suit you.

Hi guys im finalizing my choices now, i am thinking of following this built posted by Dapotatoes. My main concern is the CPU, should i reduce it to I5?
