Solution
It doesn't take much to get 60 fps in all of today's games ... a 1060 would be fine

This could be cheaper... but w/ a $1500 budget (in title ... assumed 2nd in body was a type), I improved things for the white theme and simply cause you had the room ...

If video editing is only a rare thing, ya might wanna chooise the 1st one

As for the "strict" budget. I dunno how strict .... me I'd spring for the difference as its < $20

A Cryorig H7 cooler would get you down to $1502 ... not as attractive and doesn't have the performance of the Phanteks but it's a good cooler

Notes:

1. The SSD is nice .. for what fits on it, but by the time ya take off 7% for the fake capacity, 15% recommended free space, 80 GB for the OS (after 6 months), ya left with not a lot of room for many games (i.e. ...GTAV = 95 GB, Witcher with DLCs ~ 70 GB). So you will want something fast for the games... the SSD is 50% faster than any HD

2. Ya dais didnt need SLI but the PSU gives ya the option should you choose to do so later on down the line ... if not, you will be operating much closer tot he best efficiency point

3. Also went with an extraordinary case ... rated 100 / 99 / 100 / 98 / 100 by tweaktown ... it gives you excellent cable\ routing, air flow, expandability, cooling options, etc.... nothing else even comes close in its price range. comes with three "best on market" fans, build in fan hub, exterior LEDs and LED control system. PSU shroud (won't see any ugly wires). If ya wanna save go with the Pro version which is about $85 ... I wouldn't go below that price level if aesthetics, cooling, cable routing are on your buddy's hot button list

4. Went with a high end cooler for maximum overclocking ... better than 2 x 1200m CLCs. Cooler color also matches case, RAM, MoBo and GFX card highlights
