I was waiting for the new line of GPUs to come out before I got a new PC, was planning on purchasing a 4k build from memory express but they said anything below 3000 wont work, and for 1500 I could build a gaming system to run modern games at med settings. Last pic I built was 13 years ago can I really not get a good gaming PC for 1500CAN even at 1080 res?

note that as you move upward of 1080p to 1440p and 4k the cpu matters less in gaming (most of the time).

intels are more expensive than usual with serious supply issues. the ryzens are good, especially 2000 series, and from a price to performance perspective. I don't think you'd be disappointed with the ryzen - the 2600 is really the price to performance winner at the moment.

here's a build anyway - yes can game at 1080p no problem at all. you'll be able to med-high 4k on this with no Anti aliasing - depending on the game of course.

if you want a newer gpu then you can switch it for a 2070 or 2080 (but they are a bit overpriced still for the performance).

yes I will need a monitor, but I can wait till one goes on sale. Not sure I trust ryzen, always used Intel and it's never failed me, but I'm guessing an equivalent chip is 3x the price?
