I am using 4gb of Gskill Memory http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231193
with an Asus M4a79xtd-evo MOBO and a 955BE cpu
For the life of me I can't get it to show anything other than 666.7Mhz. I've manually set it to 1333Mhz in BIOS with no luck and even upped the voltage to 1.6 to see if it changes anything. So far I have had no luck and the only thing I can think of is the fsb:dram ratio with I cant find in BIOS or how to change online

Any suggestions?

If you click one more page on cpu-z you should see the jedec values for the ram to run at 1600 specifically the voltage which you must set manually and then the clock rate to 800. Unless the board has EPP clock settings and EPP voltage settings as an option in bios. If it's any consolation the threashold with a 955 is 1333 anyway, while they're may be some increase with 1600 it's probobly in the order or 102% of 1333.

GhislainG and roonj gave you good info. Now re-check your mobo manual; sometimes the settings you need to make are available in the second or third level of the BIOS menu items. Your memory timings are 9-9-9-24 @1.5v.

If you still cannot identify the steps to change the BIOS settings, search the G. Skill's forum for your memory and mobo. I had a similar problem w/G. Skill on my DFi Board. G. Skill techs got the same board, and posted the results/settings I needed to get to the stated speed. You might also search ASUS forums.

You can do this!
