I have 2 kingston blue hyper 1600 but in cpuz it shows 667mhz. i read on another thread that i have to go to bios and change speed from 1333 to 1600. I did that and it still shows 667Mhz

Pc:

CPU i5 3570k
MOBO ASUS Z77 pro
Cooler Master 212 hyper evo
PSU 750watts

Did not get much help from memory section so thought i'd try here

Thanks!

The default ram speed on an asus motherboard is 1333Mhz.
You will have to go to the bios then advance settings then go though all the menus. in one of them(I think AI Tweeker) change the ram speed to 1600mhz.

Ai Tweaker -> Ai Overclock Tuner and Enable the X.M.P. profile.

You can do it manually, like timarp000 suggests, but you would need to set the timings manually, as well (and possibly the voltage too, if it's 1.65V RAM), not just the speed. The X.M.P. profile does it all automatically.

Ok i went to bios -> AI Tweaker

Ai Overclock tuner on default is [Auto] and the other choice is [Manual]

So since default is Auto i went and did what Timarp said.

1- Ai overclock tuner to Manual
2- Memory Frequency to 1600mhz
3- F10 [Save] -> Restart

And its still 667 Mhz on both Rams. Here's images from CPU-Z:

Also, it is running at 800Mhz here (the third pic):

I just checked the manual to be sure, but the X.M.P. option is there (or at least the manual says it is).

It's definitely there for my lowly P8Z68-V LE, so it has to be there on a board as good as the P8Z77-V Pro.

Are you sure that it wasn't there? It's just labeled as X.M.P.

Yes it is those memory sticks you posted link to and i did try changing Voltage to 1.65v "it keeps going back to defualt after restart and yes iam in manual Ai overclocker"

and my mother board is the Asus P8Z77-V Pro/Thunderbolt

Here is two images from Ai Tweaker in the bios:

Well, I just checked the manual for the Pro/Thunderbolt too, and it says that the X.M.P. option is there in Ai Overclock Tuner (along with Auto and Manual).

I'm sure you have a hard copy of the manual, but I'll just link the electronic version, so you can see what I'm seeing. Chapter 3.4, Page 3-8 http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1155/P8Z77-V_PRO_THUNDERBOLT/E7309_P8Z77-V_PRO_THUNDERBOLT.pdf

Other than that, I don't really know what else to tell you, at this point. If the X.M.P. option doesn't exist for you (and I really don't understand how that's possible) and you can't set everything manually (and it stay that way), there's really nothing you can do.

A BIOS update may help, I guess.

The pics don't really tell me much because you don't show the options that Ai Overclock Tuner gives you, just that it's on Manual currently (which I already knew), and I'm not even sure what you were trying to show me with the second one. The RAM voltage was at 1.665V though, which is too high.

The first one does say that the "Target DRAM Speed" is 1600Mhz, though, unless that was before you saved and exited. That, along with the 1.665V for the RAM tells me that it is running at 1600 (again, unless that was before you saved and exited).

Also, your screen shot that I re-posted earlier clearly shows that it is actually running at 1600. Look at it again. 800Mhz is 1600 RAM (800 x 2 = 1600).
