Hello,
i bought asus M5A88m motherboard and phenom IIX6 1090 t and corsair ram xm3 4gb 1600 in one slot but in bios the ram shows 1333 mhz and i changed to 1600 restarted my pc then after working some time the computer restart then i have to change the mhz to 1333 .. my smps is mercury 450 watts 500 rupees. please help me with the problem

IF running DDR3-1600 then it's a little more that setting the DRAM Frequency or Memory Multiplier to accommodate DDR3-1600.

Tonight I'm a little tired to read your manual, but there's (3) approved methods:
1. CPU Host/Bus Frequency -> 240 (OC's your CPU so you'll need to (Phenom II X6 1090 3200MHz) set the CPU Multiplier 3200/240 = 14 (14*240MHz = 3.36GHz)
2. CPU-NB Frequency -> 2400MHz ((DDR3-1600 / 2 = 800MHz) * 3)
3. Some MOBO's e.g. ASUS offer 'DOCP' for setting RAM profiles, as I recall MSI doesn't off this nice and simple feature 🙁

Then manually set the DRAM Frequency/Memory Multiplier, CAS Timings and DRAM Voltage all per Rated spec with your kit.

Good Luck! :)

i changed the frequency to 1600 and the voltage and latencies is auto so it will adjust to the frequency . ii am able to work inw indows 7 64 bit for some time and after that my computer restarts ....... .. is it because of my Smps becoz mine is 450 watts mercury .. i ahve Phenom II X6 1090 T

It's probably because you simply set the DRAM Frequency, and didn't follow my recommendations.

While the 6-core 'can' run DDR3-1600~DDR3-2000 it cannot do it reliably without one of the three methods listed above. DDR3-1600 may 'seem' stable, but under load be prepared for a lock-up or shutdown. The AM3 Phenom IMC is weak, touchy and needs additional 'help' to remain stable.

followed your steps . my ram frequency was 1333 in auto and i changed my Cpu frequency to 240 and multiplier to 14.Core speed was 3.36 Ghz and Ram MHZ automatically shown 1600 mhz ........... Hope this is the right way to do ........ launched Cpu Z frequency showing 800. i am little worried about my Smps (PSU) . its only 450 watt mercury . is it o to overclok with is Smps ... Core temp showing in Asus Al suite is 43 degree .......

DDR3 = Double Data Rate revision 3. Meaning the RAM @ DDR3-1600 is in reality running at 800MHz. The 'DDR' means the data on the Sine wave is transmitted on both the top and bottom of the wave and 'SDRAM' the 'S' means it is Synchronized, in this case, the the FSB so to the CPU it is indeed 800MHz*2 = 1600MHz or DDR3-1600.

See -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR3_SDRAM#JEDEC_standard_modules
CPU-z reports it as "I/O bus clock (MHz) not as Data rate (MT/s) aka MHz"

It's working at DDR3-1600! :)

AI Suite IMO is bad and is the root cause for all sorts of problems and conflicts with the BIOS. I do not use any application(s) that is/are invasive to the BIOS.

Example of DDR3-1600 running per Rated and correctly:
DDR3_1600MHz_DominatorC9.jpg

Northbridge AMD 880G rev. 00
Southbridge AMD SB850 rev. 40
Memory Type DDR3
Memory Size 4096 MBytes
Channels Single
Memory Frequency 799.9 MHz (3:10)
CAS# latency (CL) 9.0
RAS# to CAS# delay (tRCD) 9
RAS# Precharge (tRP) 9
Cycle Time (tRAS) 24
Bank Cycle Time (tRC) 34
Command Rate (CR) 1T
Uncore Frequency 1919.8 MHz

This is my memory in CPU Z ......

Finally Ram is running at 800 mhz ... thanks 😀

I changed cpu frequency to 240 mhz and multiplier to 14 then ram was 1600 . changed ram voltage to 1.65 v and installed new power supply cooler master 550w . i have no graphic card not planing to install one ...

i ran prime95 and after 15 minutes there was blue screen in my windows and windows was stuck .. so i think it will not support in my pc . so i changed back to normal

Assuming XMS (e.g. CMX4GX3M2A1600C9) is indeed DDR3-1600 9-9-9-24-2T @ 1.65v; I never saw a link or model number to your RAM.

I took a look in your manual and as I mention way in the beginning use DOCP; note my first post #3. This I know works 'IF' the RAM is DDR3-1600 9-9-9-24-2T @ 1.65v:

DIMM Slots:
CPU: | 2GB | blank | 2GB | blank |
<or>
CPU: | blank | 2GB | blank | 2GB |

BIOS:
CPU OverClocking -> DOCP
DRAM OC Profile -> DDR3-1600
DRAM Timings /Enter
DRAM CAS -> 9
DRAM RAS to CAS -> 9
DRAM RAS PRE -> 9
DRAM RAS ACT -> 9
DRAM Command Rate -> 2T

DRAM Voltage -> 1.64v

Save & Exit = yes

Question, please provide a link to your EXACT RAM.

my ram model number is CMX4GX3M1AC9 4 GB IN SINGLE SLOT
http://www.corsair.com/memory-by-product-family/xms-classic/cmx4gx3m1a1600c9.html

this is the link of my ram i installed only one ram in on e slot is that he reason .... so i have only have to change the docp profile and no changing to cpu frequency and multiplier... earlier u posted ..

do i have to do all the changes in BIOS or only anyone of the above
