That advise had promoted another question. The second ram I posted is advertised as haswell ram, whatever that means. Is their a difference between 'haswell ram' and 'not haswell ram', sorry im really not a technical person thats the best way I can explain it.

Exact same price, same latancy, same frequency just different colour and one is the 'haswell ram'. Funny enough the one I want , for the colour, is the 'haswell ram'. Surely I would go with the 'haswell ram'.

It depends on your motherboard and CPU. If you have a 'K' (unlocked CPU) model CPU and if your motherboard supports above 2133MHz then going with higher speed is better. Though, sometimes the difference cannot be noticed by the user it is worth it as the computer reacts to it better. Between the two memory, i'd go with the lowest price as their is no difference between 'em or go with one which suits your motherboard color.

The amount of memory anything between 8GB - 16GB will do the job.

Good luck with the upgrade!!

What kind of CPU? AMD A6/A8 series use 1866, so that would be advisable. Intel system that use a standard 1600 interface, then 1600. I love how people jump in and say 1600, 1866 is a waste, except it's not if you're building a A8 system that has a standard 1866 memory controller, then it's better suited for it.

Just saying.

Your mobo and CPU supports upto 3000MHz. I've seen some guys use 2400MHz without any issues but to be on the safer you may go with 2133MHz.

Good luck!!

There is no universal answer ..... for many things you do it won't matter..... but blanket statements that this is no faster than that are nonsense.

Look at BatmanAC

Batman: AA represents some of the best increases of any application in our testing. Jumps from 1333 C9 to 1600 C9 and 1866 C9 gives an 8% then another 7% boost, ending with a 21% increase in frame rates moving from 1333 C9 to 2400 C10.
